Say Hello to Rumor

Wow, I can’t believe it’s Black Friday. My where has the time gone. This year has flown by so quickly! Did you venture out to your favorite store to shop today or are you hanging out at home today? I’m not a big shopper and I hate crowds, so decided today was the perfect day to get stuff done around the farm and share some big news!

I GOT A NEW HORSE!!

Her name is Rumor. Isn’t she lovely?! I am definitely so in love with her. She actually has been on the farm now for a month. I’ve had the best intentions of sharing the story of how Rumor got to be the newest beauty in my pasture but time kept getting the best of me.

So how many of you know of Horses and Heels Blog? You know the blog dedicated to bringing us posts about cowboy boots every Monday! Hopefully you’ve read it but if you haven’t, now you know about it and should go check it out. 😉 Well Raquel is the lovely lady who owns Horses and Heels. She and I met through Social Media and Blogging. Over the past few years we’ve got to know each other pretty well through our blogs and through talking. Since day 1 of becoming online friends, I have been in complete Ah of her horse, Rumor. I love paints and I love black and white paints.

Well when Raquel found out she was going to be moving to NY she knew she had to find Rumor a new home. She posted about her on FB and right away I commented telling her to just send her down to me. I left the comment in hopes she would consider it but knew fat chance of it actually happening. I guess luck was on my side that day though because she sent me a message and after lots of careful thought and talk, Rumor would actually be coming my way. Raquel and I worked it out that Rumor would come down to me on lease. This way I’d have the opportunity to get to know her and make sure we get along and she got along with my other horses before I make the commitment to buy her.

This all happened a few months ago and Rumor actually arrived the day after I had to put Vinnie down. While it might seem like it was bad timing in reality it was the best timing possible. Instead of sitting around mourning Vinnie being gone and watching the horses mourn him too; we all got to enjoy meeting the new girl and helping her settle in.

It still is so amazing to me that Rumor is actually here. I would have never thought in a million years that this day would be here and that horse I admired from photos online is actually in my pasture. It’s truly amazing to me that someone I’ve never met in person and only talked to through the phone and online, trusts me enough to send her horse to me. Without the help of social media, Raquel and I would have never met and Rumor wouldn’t have been here at just the right time.

This whole experience has reminded me again just how blessed and lucky I am. And the best part is, Raquel will be here to visit in December and we’ll finally get to meet in person! 🙂

Love, love, love this post! You guys look so cute together and I am soooo excited to come visit! It’s nice to know she is being well cared for and loved, it definitely has taken a lot of stress off the pressures of moving. It’s funny how things have a way of working sometimes.

Rumor is doing great!! She settled in wonderfully with the rest of the herd and we have been to a couple shows! I’m not much of a winter rider though, so won’t be going anywhere else until Spring comes back around. 🙂
